We’ve all heard of escorts and cougars.
But now we know that some of the most popular escorts in the industry have actually been escort moms and dads.
A new survey has found that more than half of escort jobs are held by mom-and-dad couples.
The survey, conducted by escorts firm Redbook, also found that the majority of escort clients are women.
The results are in line with research conducted by the University of Maryland, which found that 69% of escort parents report having an escort child.
Redbook said the survey found that escorts have a high turnover rate, with about 10% of moms and fathers leaving the industry within five years of starting one.
Redbook CEO Amy Zeglinski said escorts were one of the best-paying jobs for parents, and that parents in their mid-20s make more than $80,000 a year.
“We believe that it is an exciting career choice that is well-suited to the needs of a diverse range of parents, who have diverse careers,” she said in a statement.
According to the survey, a majority of escorting parents say they have children to care for.
And while the majority (54%) of escort moms work with a male client, nearly half (46%) also work with female clients.
When it comes to escorts themselves, the survey revealed that nearly a quarter of moms say they are also parents to their children.
More than half (56%) of escorters say they take care of their children’s medical needs.
Most escorts said they have worked with women who are HIV-positive or whose parents are HIV positive, with a third of moms reporting they’ve been offered HIV tests.
